Contemporary Art Jewellery

Taibe is a contemporary jewelry artist living in Santiago, Chile.

Shortly after graduating from Design, she was an author and illustrator of children's books. Taibe continued studies in jewelry, and since 2003 she works in her studio making unique pieces. Over the years, Taibe has been more interested in creating contemporary art jewelry, she is looking for a sculptural language, a fine line between an art object and a piece of art jewelry.

The artworks have been meticulously handcrafted, mainly with leaves collected from the flower of the banana tree and pieces of seaweed washed up on the beach (where the Pacific Ocean meets the Atacama Desert).

Using the natural shape of the sustainable materials as they dried, enhancing a sense of movement, I made the structure of the pieces The leaves and the seaweed have been carefully treated for wearability, using a non-traditional jewelry making technique that I developed after a long time of experimentation to finally create the sculptural artworks.
